Position overview Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking entry level Structural Engineers. The successful candidate will help establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while contributing to project success. Candidates should be familiar with drawing and technical tools, programs, and software, and have an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of materials, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations for static and dynamic load cases.
Assist in preparing design calculation packages, develop structural technical specifications, and support designers with design drawing development for work package development and construction activities.
Support structural estimation and bid development for project proposals.
Possibility to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university required; EIT certification preferred.
GPA above 3.0 preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; preferred experience with structural analysis software (SAP2000, RISA, AutoCAD/Revit, FEA software).
Strong work ethic and initiative required.
Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access.
Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties.
Other requirements
Regular, reliable attendance; ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
Effective written and verbal communication with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
Work safely and follow instructions, including policy and safety guidelines.
May work at various locations with varying conditions.
