An established and growing A&E firm is seeking an experienced

Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

to join their team in

Columbia, SC . This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in both field and office environments and is ready to take a leadership role in managing survey projects from conception through completion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee land surveying projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, construction staking, and subdivision platting.

Supervise field crews and office staff to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Conduct quality control checks on survey work and deliverables.

Prepare and review survey documents including plats, legal descriptions, and survey reports.

Communicate directly with clients, project managers, contractors, and local/state agencies.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal survey standards and regulations.

Maintain and update records, maps, and reports using CAD and GIS technologies.

Requirements

Active South Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.

Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience.

Proficient in survey software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations.

Strong understanding of SC land laws, platting processes, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
