Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor

in Biomedical Systems Engineering. The selected candidates will demonstrate the potential for sustained research excellence as well as a commitment to quality in undergraduate and graduate education. Augusta University has embarked on an ambitious, multi-year effort to significantly expand its computing, cybersecurity and data science activities. Teaching

– Teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, including duties typical for a college professor such as grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparations, and following university policies regarding teaching. Research

– Persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures include publications and presentations appropriate to your field, including articles on instruction in your field. Service

– Service to the School and Augusta University as requested by the Dean, service to the profession, and leadership within the discipline at local, regional, and national/international levels. Required Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity. Assistant Professor: doctoral degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, computer engineering or related disciplines. Active research program with publications in high quality venues (journals and conference proceedings). Associate Professor: doctoral degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, computer engineering or related disciplines. At least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training. Active externally funded research program with a strong publication record and leadership in the discipline. Visible in the research community via membership on technical program committees. Demonstrated mentoring of graduate students and success in guiding them to graduation. Professor: doctoral degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, computer engineering or related disciplines. At least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable experience. Active externally-funded research program with a strong record of competitive funding. Outstanding publications and leadership in the discipline. High visibility in the research community through chairing technical program committees and/or serving on editorial boards. Proven mentoring of doctoral students and successful guidance to graduation. Required faculty employment qualifications (USG institutions)

Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements. Evidence of ability as a teacher. Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties. Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements). Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations. Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on offer letter dates and yearly contract. The intended work commitment is 1.0 FTE. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and may be subject to funds availability. The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences was established in 2017 to provide high-engagement, state-of-the-art technology education and research across computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, and biomedical systems engineering. The school offers B.S. degrees in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, cyber operations, cybersecurity engineering, and biomedical systems engineering, as well as graduate programs including M.S. in Information Security Management, M.S. in Computer Science, and Ph.D. in Computer and Cyber Sciences. The School headquarters are located at the Georgia Cyber Center on Augusta University’s Riverfront Campus. The center includes a cyber range, auditorium, incubator space, and classrooms, with proximity to industry professionals and startups. About Us
