2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm) with a $2 / hr shift differential. First few weeks will require training on 1st shift (6:00 am – 2:00 pm).
Responsibilities
Performs mechanical inspections, repairs and maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
Understands mechanical and pneumatic equipment, and machine shop tools.
Maintains production equipment.
Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures.
Repairs and maintains machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications (e.g., die cutters, web presses, inserting machines, conveyor systems).
Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders.
Diagnoses machine malfunction and determines the need for adjustment or repair.
Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part.
Assembles and test‑operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including hazardous waste handling, lock‑out/tag‑out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Skilled in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex equipment and machinery.
Has advanced knowledge of equipment and machine control modes to trace symptoms of malfunction and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic failures.
Can make precise adjustments for alignment and parallelism despite continuing effects of malfunctions.
Can perform precise measurements of air and fluid pressure and flow, and knows mechanisms to convert readings into measurable units.
Can interpret complex multi‑view drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturer specifications, and other technical material to isolate malfunctions in hydraulic pumps, motors, clamping devices, and axis drive systems.
Has advanced knowledge of construction and assembly techniques to manufacture replacement parts with complex configurations or assemble unique devices with unusual angular relationships.
Knows geometry, shop mathematics, and handbook formulas to calculate angles, clearances, fits, pressure, flow, and other parameters of interest.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree or trade school certificate in a related discipline preferred.
Computer literacy required.
Ability to operate a cutting torch or welding equipment preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment required.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read blueprints and fabricate parts to exact specifications.
Ability to operate CNC milling machines and CNC plasma cutting equipment preferred.
Experience in printing industry required.
Additional Information The pay range for this role at the noted location is $22.89 – $37.13 / hour. Pay may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Total compensation may include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and stand‑by pay.
