Electrician
Job Summary: The Electrician monitors, maintains, adjusts, and repairs electrical distribution systems owned or leased by the Medical University of South Carolina to ensure safety and reliability of emergency and normal power electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and adjust generators, ATS, MCC, drives, motors, and distribution panels.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical distribution systems.
Assist in emergency power system support during disasters as considered Essential Personnel.
Minimum Training and Education
High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of work experience.
Licensed Electrician or Master Electrician.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and lift objects up to 36 inches.
Ability to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex‑safe environment.
Ability to maintain vision, hearing, and olfactory function as required.
Worker Information Worker Type: Employee – Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week, hourly pay (Health‑25)
