Job Summary and Qualifications We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN) to join our team on a full‑time/part‑time/PRN/per diem/as‑needed basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radio‑pharmaceuticals in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner.
Tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans.
Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders; administer and record dosages.
Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce images of organs.
Position patients and adjust immobilization devices.
Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns.
Demonstrate competency in procedures such as biliary, brain SPECT, bone scan, cardiac, cisternogram, colonic bleed, prostascint, gallium, gastric emptying, GI bleed, indium scan, liver, MIBG, octreoscan.
Monitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation (MEDITECH).
Assist with transporting patients as needed.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED.
Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (AMA‑Approved School).
Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Current registry: NMTCBor ARRT (N).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Knowledge of GAMMA cameras.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
