Telecom Journeyman Electrician

Based near BWI Airport, with a service radius of up to 100 miles.
Job Summary A growing technical services team is seeking a full-time Journeyman Electrician to support power construction for telecom infrastructure and emerging EV charging projects. This role involves hands‑on electrical work, collaboration with a Master Electrician, and occasional leadership of apprentices or helpers. The ideal candidate is experienced, customer‑facing, and eager to grow within the electrical and telecommunications industries.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and telecom environments
Pull wire and install electrical panels on cell sites (100‑400 amp systems)
Work with AC/DC power and low‑voltage systems
Install conduit (Rigid, EMT, PVC) and perform conduit bending
Conduct site surveys and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local safety codes
Operate tools and equipment such as conduit benders, wire pullers, and multimeters
Mentor apprentices and supervise helpers as needed
Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and clients
Maintain accurate documentation including work logs and inspection reports
Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential electrical hazards
Top Skills & Experience
3+ years
of journeyman‑level experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
Proficiency with
AC/DC power , generators, HVAC, battery banks, and EV charging stations
Experience with
conduit installation
(EMT, Rigid, PVC)
Familiarity with
telecom infrastructure
(fiber, low‑voltage systems) is a strong plus
Required Qualifications
Valid
Journeyman Electrician License
Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship
4-6 years of post‑apprenticeship field experience
Strong knowledge of NEC standards and OSHA safety protocols (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with rooftop and underground electrical work
Familiarity with medium‑voltage systems (high‑voltage is a plus)
Strong communication skills and a desire to grow in the telecom/electrical field
Work Environment & Schedule
Fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment supporting telecom and infrastructure projects
Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM
Report daily to the field office near Hanover, MD
Use of company vehicle from office to job site (no take‑home vehicle)
40‑50 hour work weeks; overtime available but not mandatory
