Job Summary
The BIM/VDC Technician 2 is responsible for creating a digital representation of projects. The BIM/VDC Technician 2 outputs information from the model/database to facilitate processes including estimate comparisons, bill of materials creation, manufacturing, and installation of the scope of work. Responsibilities
Model/Drawing Creation (75%): Generates three-dimensional design models of structures and spaces using digital technology such as Revit, Navisworks, and Stratus. Creates submittal drawings, internal shop drawings, installation drawings, and prefabrication/manufacturing build sheets or build drawings. Updates models and drawings per as-built drawings. Processes 3D scans to create and/or verify a model. List the primary duties and responsibilities of the job. Manages model file structures and models supplied by other vendors. Manages model conflicts and design issues from the field and/or other trades. Generates and updates standard model families. Administrative Tasks (25%): Generates and sends Information Confirming and Acknowledgement of Request Emails to Project Managers under the supervision of a Project Designer or higher-level BIM Technician. Generates and maintains project documentation associated with RFIs and Submittal documents using project management software. Develops Construction Work Packages to assist field personnel and project designers. Supports Project Designers in developing Construction Designs. Generates and creates project labeling per customer specifications. Manage site 360 photo records. Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. 3-6 years experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Able to demonstrate knowledge of basic geometry and able to visualize in 3 dimensions. Experience working with the following software AutoCAD Microsoft Office Suite Revit Navisworks Bluebeam Procore Capable of developing working knowledge concerning the National Electric Code, construction drawing symbology. Capable of developing understandings of new software and or processes associated with a changing work environment. Working Conditions
Work shall be in an office environment with periodic construction site visits. In special circumstances employees may be assigned directly to a construction site if the customer requires on-site modeling support. Remote work is not possible for this job due to the collaborative nature and computer hardware requirements. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $58,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Benefits
