Position: Facilities Construction Specialist This role involves working on new construction and interior improvements, including residential and commercial projects, renovation, and remodeling. The Construction Specialist performs skilled tasks such as demolition, plumbing, electrical, HVAC work, carpentry, sheetrocking, finish carpentry, door hanging, and painting. Tasks may also include operating light equipment and reading blueprints. The position requires practicing safety, environmental protection, and hazardous waste disposal in compliance with federal regulations. Qualifications: Required Education:
High school diploma or GED with proficiency in spelling, grammar, basic composition, and math. Required licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances: State of Arizona Valid Driver’s License OSHA 10 certification Forklift, Scissor lift, and aerial certification Required skills, knowledge, and abilities: Ability to stay alert while working on campus Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities Follow-through and task completion skills Problem-solving and sound judgment Effective communication skills (oral, written, electronic) Understanding and applying university policies Physical ability to perform job duties Skill in operating grounds maintenance equipment Minimum work experience:
1-3 years
