Description of the role and organization following SA-TECH practices. This position is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt Marine Electronics Technician I supporting the NAWCWD Pacific Target and Marine Operations (PTMO) program at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA. Position Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt Work Location : Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA Salary : $34.65/hour + Health & Welfare up to $7.00/hour SA-TECH is a DoD contractor specializing in range operations and maintenance, weapons testing, facilities management, maritime targets O&M, engineering support, systems integration, electronics and communications maintenance, and cybersecurity. The company operates multiple active test and/or training ranges for the Army, Air Force and Navy, with a 34-year history of supporting complex DoD programs.

Responsibilities Function as an Electronics Technician in a marine environment, dockside at Port Hueneme, CA.

Become qualified in remote operations of marine vessels ranging from 12 ft to 264 ft.

Apply knowledge of marine electronics, AC/DC electrical systems, and the repair and installation of marine components for build-up and operation of marine target vessels.

Diagnose marine equipment malfunctions and perform repairs with minimal supervision.

Use test equipment for troubleshooting and installations (voltmeter, soldering equipment, crimpers).

Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work orders.

Occasionally serve as a crewmember on vessels or operate unmanned surface targets to support maritime operations.

Other duties as assigned, including forklift operation, HAZMAT handling, safe use of PPE and small hand tools, and any other duties within contract scope.

Work Conditions Outdoor duties may be performed on shore or afloat, on even or uneven surfaces, wet or dry.

Ability to work in a seaborne environment with some shift work at remote locations and multiple overnight assignments.

Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching; must be able to lift 50 lbs. alone, or 50-100 lbs. with assistance.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Work Schedule: 9/80 schedule (Mon – Thurs, 9 hours; alternating Fridays 8 hours or off).

Overtime may be required to support operations.

Routine travel to remote locations; work location normally NAWCWD Port Hueneme.

Routine deployments on support and target vessels may be required (INCONUS and occasionally OCONUS).

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical school training or 2-4 years of related experience may replace formal education.

Experience in a military environment (E4+) or on a military facility preferred but not required.

Basic understanding of computer networking and MS Office.

Team-oriented with good collaboration skills.

Current Driver’s License; able to be insured under the company vehicle policy for work/government/rental vehicles during employment.

U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date.

All candidates will undergo background screening including SSN, driving record, and criminal background check.
