Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep and preventative maintenance of the Cherry Tree Inn & Suites property, including responding to guest service requests, maintaining interior and exterior facilities—including all mechanical systems and grounds—and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests and team members. Responsibilities

Perform property walk-throughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns. Complete work orders and respond to guest maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and room furnishings. Maintain and monitor pool and spa systems, ensuring proper chemical levels and cleanliness. Maintain hotel grounds including trash pickup, sweeping, weeding, watering plants, and general landscaping. Perform snow and ice removal in winter months (salting, shoveling walkways, clearing entryways). Inspect and maintain building exterior (siding, signage, lighting, etc.). Keep public areas, equipment rooms, and storage spaces organized and in good repair. Ensure tools and equipment are clean, stored properly, and in safe working condition. Document work completed using maintenance logs or tracking systems. Check and maintain emergency systems (e.g., fire extinguishers, exit signs, lighting). Grounds Maintenance Duties Include

Mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, and maintaining flower beds. Seasonal upkeep: spring clean-up, fall leaf removal, snow/ice removal in winter. Monitoring parking lot and walkways for litter, weeds, and trip hazards. Assisting with exterior lighting and signage upkeep. Power washing walkways or exterior surfaces as needed. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in hotel, commercial, or facility maintenance preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and grounds care. Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage priorities. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and working outdoors in various conditions. Schedule

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and rotate on-call coverage. Seniority level
