Manufacturing Engineering Intern
to join our team. This position is a seasonal summer role based at our Sherman, TX facility. Position Overview
Eaton Cooper B-Line is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support the production of electrical enclosures. The selected candidate will play a key supporting role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the site’s processes. Through the analysis of performance data, identification of inefficiencies, and the implementation of strategic solutions, the ME Intern will support the site in achieving its goals. This role involves collaboration with various departments to foster a culture of innovation and improvement. Key Responsibilities
Work directly with the Manufacturing Engineering team to develop standard work instructions, perform time studies, develop operator loading and capacity charts. Assist with various continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives which may include participation in Kaizen or Rapid Improvement Events. Provide support for new product initiatives and production part validations. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements): Currently enrolled in an accredited university as a junior or senior pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Minimum 3.0 GPA (please do not round). Eaton will not consider applicants for employment sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. Relocation is not provided for this role; the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Sherman, TX. Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and/or previous internship experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Skills / Position Criteria
Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Collaborative and team focused. Seniority level
