Job Purpose The Engineering Technician serves as a lead technical expert for rotary stretch blow molding equipment. They own equipment reliability through the design, management, and implementation of engineering projects. The Engineering Technician works alongside the maintenance team to provide advanced troubleshooting and equipment breakdown support.

Responsibilities

Serve as a lead technical expert for specified piece(s) of equipment.

Provide advanced troubleshooting and breakdown support to maintenance technicians.

Manage all aspects of equipment reliability:

Review and monitor equipment efficiency and downtime trends.

Recommend and engineer solutions to improve equipment.

Manage and implement improvement projects.

Communicate issues and recommendations for corrective actions to maintenance and operations teams.

Coordinate and complete annual rebuilds.

Point of contact for all OEM needs including troubleshooting, modifications, and upgrades.

Create and maintain equipment records and documentation:

Technical procedures and work guides.

Work orders and spare parts.

Prints and schematics.

Provide technical guidance and training of technicians.

Ability to work under limited supervision.

Other as assigned.

Qualifications

Extensive hands‑on experience with stretch blow molding equipment.

Ability to set up and adjust process parameters for PET bottle blow molding.

Familiarity with SIDEL and KHS stretch blow molding equipment.

Professional, positive, organized, and team‑collaborative.

Previous experience as a technician or equivalent, capable of fully operating equipment in the area of responsibility.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot using advanced tools (PLC Logic, Trends, Historian, etc.).

Advanced mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment rebuilds.

Completion of advanced training classes (Skilled Trades, Electrical/PLC training, SolidWorks, Project Management, etc.).

Ability to read and interpret schematics (P&ID, Electrical, and Mechanical).

Proven solution and project executor; including management of outside vendors, coordinating with OEMs, and sourcing parts/equipment.

Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

High school diploma or college degree (preferred).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Willing to adjust schedule to support production, planned downtime events, or unplanned issues/downtime.

Regular use of a variety of machines and tools.

Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Reaching/bending as necessary to service equipment.

Occasional chemical handling (PAA, H₂O₂, All required PPE supplied).

Exposure to machinery and noisy environments (All required PPE supplied).

Any other physical requirements.

Food Safety Requirements

Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that may affect product quality or food safety.

Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color‑coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.

Salary Base pay range: $90,000 - $130,000 USD
