Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the timely repair and maintenance of all related systems Assist with preventative maintenance records for all equipment Operate all associated systems safely Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Perform other service work as directed Contribute to the cleanliness of the work area Minimum Education and Qualifications: Four years of experience as a Stationary Engineer, central plant operator, or millwright in a large boiler plant over 1,000 BHP and 3,600 tons of air-conditioning Must have and maintain an active OE-2, S-2, or S-1 State of Connecticut Occupational License Minimum Type 1 and 2 EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification Ability to read, troubleshoot, and work from blueprints, piping diagrams, and schematics Ability to show initiative and respond to various situations without direct supervision Core Competencies: Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirements Understanding of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in central plant maintenance and operations Familiarity with building management systems Good written and verbal communication skills Training Requirements: Pass both written and verbal technical proficiency tests OSHA lockout/tagout procedures Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure training Respirator training and fit testing Man lift training (scissor and boom lifts) Forklift training Confined space training Fall protection training Learn departmental rules and regulations Physical Demands and Work Environment: Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders Work in extreme hot and cold environments Work in a smoking environment Work various shifts and flexible hours This list is not exhaustive.
