Eversource is looking for a Supervisor, Construction located in Eastern Massachusetts. You will be responsible for the construction management and quality assurance of transmission line, distribution line, and substation projects. You will determine project staffing requirements and oversee internal/external construction staff. You will work with Project Managers, Engineering, Scheduling, Contract Administration, other Transmission Group managers, Local Control Center/ Operations Centers, Legal, Purchasing, and field staff to ensure the safe and timely completion of work meeting Eversource's quality standards. You will ensure compliance with environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations; direct safety awareness and compliance initiatives within the department; and monitor the safety and environmental performance of contractors. You will be responsible for the performance of onsite resources and for interacting with external labor management to ensure the evaluation and performance of external resources to meet Eversource standards.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage a construction team scaled to ensure comprehensive management of all construction activities
Manage all construction-related activity including budget, schedule, contract adherence, and compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
Lead and document constructability reviews
Lead development of required project Outage & Energization (O&E) plans
Conduct O&E review with outage coordination
Ensure on-time submittal of associated permit requests in accordance with defined application requirements
Ensure bid documents include complete and clearly defined scopes of work
Develop construction bid documents including detailed schedule of values
Ensure all materials are identified, ordered and delivery schedules meet project requirements
Collaborate with Project Manager and procurement to conduct bid reviews and recommendations for award
Develop and maintain accurate construction cash flow
Develop and maintain construction risk matrix
Coordinate internal and external resources as required to support the project
Schedule, lead and document comprehensive weekly project construction meetings
Document and manage RFIs, ECNs and CORs in accordance with defined procedures
Maintain clear and open communication with all supporting organizations
Ensure construction schedule accuracy
Ensure contractor adherence to the Construction Quality Assurance plan
Manage all “out-of-scope” work with cost and schedule impact communications
Set clear expectations for construction safety performance with the project team
Investigate and resolve safety issues or concerns promptly
Notify promptly of any deviations in safety, compliance, conformance, schedule or budget
Ensure courteous and professional on-site public interactions
Collaborate with Project Manager to validate and process invoices promptly
Ensure all documentation and activities required for project closeout are completed
Mentor junior staff to foster career development
Qualifications Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Detailed knowledge of transmission, substation, and distribution construction
Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices, procedures, and safety requirements
Strong human resource management and business planning skills
Working knowledge of information technology and the use of Eversource’s office automation and information systems
Good written and oral communication skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or the equivalent
Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of construction, maintenance, or related experience
Experience in Energy Delivery and transmission is preferred
Supervisory experience of both non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit employees is preferred
Or equivalent degree
Licenses & Certifications:
Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver’s license
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH if necessary
Compensation and Benefits: Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $131,400.00-$146,000.00
