Responsibilities
Oversee department operations in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
Uphold and enforce safety standards. Supervise maintenance team, assign and delegate work orders and projects, inspect work as needed.
Provide regular feedback to the maintenance team. Discuss and make suggestions regarding talent, challenges, and process improvements to the Chief Engineer and hotel management in areas of specialty.
Act as advisor to Chief Engineer and hotel management in areas of specialty. Perform department, office, business, and administrative duties as assigned.
Train maintenance team. Maintain a portable radio and stay in contact with the central base, respond to engineering service calls, and prioritize guest requests. Maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, and accident-free manner.
Perform all essential functions of Maintenance Technician 1 and 2 plus special skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC as applicable.
Additional duties include:
Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
Monitor and maintain engineering functions when full staff is unavailable (weekends and evenings).
Respond to emergency situations (fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters, power failures) and notify authorities as required.
Make rounds to ensure systems are in working order; clean and maintain equipment and work areas; complete work orders and record readings.
Document parts used and parts needed for purchase; handle elevator breakdowns; maintain records of preventive maintenance programs.
Complete daily work order request forms and report unsafe conditions to leadership.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training:
High school diploma, plus two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction.
Experience:
Minimum four years of experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or building maintenance.
Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, boilers, bathroom fixtures, basic carpentry, and related trades.

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces; climb ladders; drive if required.
Environment Indoor work with exposure to temperature variations; outdoor exposure to weather; prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and heavy lifting.
Salary: USD $26.50 - USD $27.50 /Hr.
