The Tooling Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of various tools and equipment within the manufacturing plant. This role involves conducting routine inspections, diagnosing, and resolving tool malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring tools are in optimal working condition. The Tool Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime, maximizing productivity, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Measures Of Success

Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot tools and equipment to identify malfunctions or performance issues. Repair or replace defective components, such as motors, switches, gears, or sensors, using hand and power tools. Develop and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for tools and equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection, to prevent equipment failures and prolong tool lifespan. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with tools and equipment. Conduct safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and report any safety concerns to supervisors or safety officers. Monitor tool inventory levels, identify spare part needs, and coordinate with procurement or inventory control teams for timely replenishment. Maintain an organized tool storage area, ensuring tools are labeled, secured, and accessible. Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance activities, repairs, calibration results, and equipment history. Coordinate with production teams, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to schedule tool maintenance activities, minimizing disruptions to production schedules. Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in tool maintenance, mechanical/electrical systems, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience as a tool maintenance technician or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of tool maintenance principles, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in using hand and power tools for repairs and adjustments. Familiarity with calibration processes and use of measuring instruments. Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and schematics. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints. Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in equipment maintenance
