Shift Patterns / Hours

Shifts: Earlies – Monday to Friday 6AM–2PM.

Lates – Monday to Friday 2PM–10PM (alternating weekly).

Location Newport, Wales

Key Role and Responsibilities The Assembly Operative is a member of a team responsible for carrying out various assembly procedures, including fitting components across mechanical tasks within a production environment to achieve the fully built vehicle.

Follows specifications and other appropriate instructions to accurately assemble components on a train using a variety of tools and equipment.

Carry out lean production activities.

Record and report faults to relevant areas of production.

Ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.

The Candidate The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings.

You will have a background in heavy engineering and a mechanical skillset.

Essentials

Ability to read and work to mechanical drawings.

High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks well.

Able to use a variety of machines and hand tools.

Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Knowledge and experience in promoting safe working practices in a safety‑critical workplace.

Able to maintain accurate records.

Desirables

NVQ Level 3 or relevant professional experience.
