Project Manager – Prefabrication

Overview The Project Manager – Prefabrication plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This position will work closely with estimating, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure project execution aligns with client expectations, quality standards, and company profitability goals.
Responsibilities
Process incoming bid requests from clients in collaboration with Business Development and Estimating teams.
Review and prepare estimates based on labor calculations, material pricing, and subcontracts.
Review Estimating Department proposals prior to client submission to ensure accuracy and alignment with project scope.
Review project proposals and plans to determine timelines, funding limitations, staffing requirements, and procedural steps.
Collaborate with Project Controls to establish and monitor project budgets.
Lead project kick‑off meetings to align all departments on schedule and deliverables.
Establish work plans and staffing schedules for each phase of the project.
Prepare vendor subcontracts and coordinate material purchase orders with procurement, including creation of purchase requisitions.
Outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project team members.
Direct and coordinate project activities to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
Review status reports, identify variances, and adjust schedules or plans as needed.
Prepare project reports for management and clients.
Provide technical advice, resolve project challenges, and coordinate with regulatory agencies when required.
Oversee timely material shipments to meet customer schedules.
Manage change orders, contract modifications, and outstanding issues to ensure prompt payment and client satisfaction.
Lead project close‑out activities, document lessons learned, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university,
or
ten (10) years of related experience,
or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong understanding of prefabrication, structural, or piping systems within an industrial or construction setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
Experience with ASME and/or AISC fabrication quality programs preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in
MS Office , especially
Excel
and
Word .
Experience with prefabrication or structural design software such as
SpoolFab ,
Tekla , or
Tekla EPM
is strongly desired.
