Overview
Control System Project Engineer I (BMS PLC Programming) – Role located in Beaver Dam, WI. We are hiring a SCADA Design Engineer to deliver remote BMS design for hyperscale datacenters. You will develop standards-based designs and reusable content on Schneider and Rockwell SCADA platforms across white space and central plant (CRAH/CRAC, AHU, chillers/towers, pumps/VFDs, heat reclaim, humidification, water treatment). You’ll produce design documents (URS/FRS/DDS), build templates/UDTs/faceplates, support FAT/SAT, and collaborate daily with PLC, networking, commissioning, and GC/MEP partners to meet performance, resiliency (N+1/2N), and quality (QMS) targets on schedule and budget. Education And Experience
B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). 5+ years in controls/SCADA/BMS with demonstrated delivery on multi-discipline projects. Practical experience implementing Schneider and/or Rockwell SCADA solutions (redundancy, distributed clients/servers, centralized standards). Experience comparable to Control Systems Project Engineer I/II responsibilities. Duties And Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
SCADA Design (Schneider + Rockwell): Schneider AVEVA System Platform (InTouch OMI), Plant SCADA (Citect) and/or EcoStruxure SCADA; graphics, alarming, historian, reporting, redundant/distributed architectures. Rockwell: FactoryTalk View SE/ME, FactoryTalk Historian SE, Alarms & Events, Linx, AssetCentre; client/server and clustered designs. Standards & Reuse: Implement tag models/UDTs, faceplates/widgets, graphics style guides, navigation, alarm philosophy, and libraries across campuses. Integration: BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug B, SNMP; develop SQL schemas/queries for trends, analytics, and reporting. Coordinate PLC interfaces (Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix via Studio 5000; Schneider Modicon M340/M580 via EcoStruxure Control Expert). IT/OT & Security: VLAN segmentation, certificates/SSL/TLS, role-based access, server hardening/virtualization per customer standards and Thermo policies. Quality & Documentation: Produce URS/FRS/DDS, ITPs, FAT/SAT scripts, and turnover packages; follow Thermo’s QMS, participate in peer/code reviews. Commissioning Support: Provide remote L1–L3 support; assist site teams for L4/L5/IST as needed. Customer Service

Deliver design scopes accurately, on schedule, and under budget; keep estimates/forecasts current. Flag scope changes and risks early; support mitigations and change-order development. Coordinate interfaces with PLC, EPMS, networking, commissioning agent, and TAB teams; maintain realistic task plans. Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget. Identify issues beyond scope and communicate to the project lead; lead project-related tasks or small to mid-sized projects; act as customer’s main contact when leading. Communicate clearly with customers and trade partners; anticipate issues and plan solutions; seek opportunities for new work. Provide detailed feedback on project and task assignments; understand project contracts and specifications; manage risks. Travel Required
Periodic design workshops, FAT/SAT, reviews, or site/IST support: approximately 10–25% based on program needs. On Call
On-call rotation may be required based on location and client needs. Work Authorization/Other Requirements
