Cogent Analytics
Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Study, evaluate, and understand project plans, designs, and specifications.
Identify required project resources based on scope of work.
Generate estimates for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors.
Obtain multiple bids from vendors and subcontractors; assist in contract negotiations.
Work with internal team and potential client to create the most competitive project proposal or bid.
Support Project Managers by estimating Change Orders during downtime.
Essential Functions
Attend Pre-Bid Meetings to understand the project’s intent.
Prepare “Request For Information” (RFI) to identify conflicts in Bid Documents.
Assist with lead follow-ups and referrals from field activity concerning future opportunities.
Estimate for electrical requirements; read & comprehend specifications and trade drawings.
Develop itemized costs using Accu-bid, Enterprise software, and Live Count Plan Viewer.
Mark-up drawings and documents using Bluebeam Revu 2016 to provide detail notes.
Coordinate with Engineers on BIM layouts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Team-oriented mindset to assist colleagues meet deadlines.
Ask questions to team members and management when unsure.
Communicate difficult or sensitive information tactfully.
Understanding of Internet, Intranet, Extranet, and client/server structures.
Proficiency with Estimating Software – Accubid Enterprise & LiveCount Plan Viewer.
Knowledge of building construction, materials, and methods.
Knowledge of building codes and electrical, plumbing, mechanical codes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong organizational skills.
Interaction with customers and coworkers in a professional manner.
General understanding of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
Attention to detail.
Education, Experience & Licensing
Must have 4+ years of experience as an Electrical Construction Estimator.
Residential & Commercial experience a plus.
