A Welder Lead at D&H Industries performs a variety of welding utilizing MIG/Robotic Welders and Spot/Resistance Welders ensuring components are welded to engineered specifications. The Welder Lead trains and mentors the 2nd shift welding staff.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., 10‑hour shifts. This is a 2nd Shift position with a $3.00/hour Shift Premium.

Responsibilities

Lead the 2nd Shift welding department.

Train and mentor the 2nd shift welding staff.

Read blueprints/drawings and job routing, take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures; determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

Set up components for welding according to specifications.

Weld components/parts by operating MIG / Robotic Welders and Spot/Resistance Welders to setup sheet specifications.

Produce complex welded assemblies to close tolerances and produce quality results.

Inspect weldments for defects such as weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds, sharp corners/edges, and correct weld lengths and sizes.

Perform metal finishing such as grinding to remove defects and/or fix surfaces to achieve the required quality level.

May be assigned to work in other areas of the production floor as needed to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

Education: HS Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience/Training: At least 1 year of relevant manufacturing/welding experience preferred; at least 1 year of leadership experience preferred.

Skills: Basic reading, writing, and math skills; working knowledge of blueprint reading preferred; ability to read measurements in metric and traditional scale.
