Job Title Seasoned Architectural Sheet Metal Fabricator

Company Overview We are a leading large-scale architectural sheet metal fabrication and installation company based in Chicago, serving commercial, industrial, and institutional markets across the Midwest. With over 30 years of excellence in high-end metalwork and custom fabrication, we are known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and precision. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Seasoned Architectural Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team of skilled craftsmen.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate a wide range of architectural sheet metal products, including but not limited to:

Wall panels (Rainscreen, Composite, Plate)

Roofing components (fascia, coping, soffits)

Custom flashings, trims, gutters, and downspouts

Louvers, column covers, cornices, and decorative elements

Operate and maintain various sheet metal equipment: Press brakes, shears, slitters, folders, CNC routers, and TIG/MIG welders

Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication details with a high degree of accuracy

Perform layout, measuring, cutting, forming, rolling, and assembling to tight tolerances

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installers to ensure products meet job specifications and timelines

Ensure all work meets company quality standards and complies with safety protocols

Assist in training junior fabricators and apprentices as needed

Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend process improvements

Qualifications

Minimum 7+ years of architectural sheet metal fabrication experience

Mastery of forming and fabricating architectural-grade metals (aluminum, stainless steel, copper, etc.)

Proficient in reading and interpreting shop and architectural drawings

Strong understanding of SMACNA standards and tolerances

Familiar with CNC-operated equipment and manual forming tools

Skilled in TIG and/or MIG welding for architectural finishes (preferred)

High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade certification is a plus

OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred or willing to obtain)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and handle sheet metal materials up to 50 lbs regularly

Standing, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-output production environment
