Overview Pipelayer
Wage: $25-$33

Description The pipelayer's primary responsibility include assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Job Responsibilities
Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing.
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, cover pipes with earth or other materials, cut pipes to required lengths, and dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
Install and repair sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
Maintaining the work area(s) in a clean and orderly manner on a continuous basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Attention and commitment to safety.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work long hours.
Education and Certificates
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work long hours and move at least 50 pounds.
Regular exposure to the elements.
Frequent bending, standing, lifting and ongoing physical activity.
