On / Offshore Electrician

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an On/Offshore Electrician based in Brookshire, Tx. The Electrician will handle day-to-day tasks such as performing electrical installations, conducting maintenance and repair work, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring safety and compliance during all electrical operations. The role also involves working collaboratively with teams and leveraging technical expertise to maintain equipment reliability and functionality.
Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance: Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, commissioning, and testing electrical equipment and systems in the oil / gas, industrial and commercial industries.
Shop panel building, testing, and electrical work.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance on generators, switchgear, MCCs, VFD/SCR drives, transformers, UPS/DC chargers, Ex equipment, cranes, drawworks/top drive, mud pump motors, and more.
Power Plant Operations Support: Assist with generator changeovers, load sharing, synchronization, AVR/governor tuning, and power‑management logic checks to prevent blackouts and motor trips.
Drilling Package Uptime: Diagnose trips/alarms on drawworks, top drive, mud pumps, rotary tables, agitators, shakers, and restore operation quickly while controlling arc‑flash and LOTO boundaries.
Fault Finding: Use schematics, SLDs, loop/wiring diagrams, and test instruments to isolate faults in motors, feeders, relays, PLC I/O, and control circuits.
Hazardous Area Compliance: Perform IEC/NEC‑based Ex inspections, maintain equipment integrity, and rectify defects to maintain certification status.
ESD and Fire & Gas Readiness: Test and maintain ESD, F&G loops, emergency lighting, battery systems, UPS autonomy, and support drills and impairment management.
High/Low‑Voltage Work: Conduct HV switching under authorization, racking breakers, testing protection relays, and maintain 480–690 V distribution and MV systems.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Electricity and Electrical Work
Experience in Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting
Familiarity with concepts and applications of Electrical Engineering
Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills
Commitment to safety and compliance practices
Ability to work effectively in on‑site environments
Relevant certifications or training in electrical work
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or vocational training is advantageous
