About HEN HEN Technologies is a purpose-driven organization pioneering the development of advanced tools for firefighting in both wildland and structural applications. Utilizing principles of fluid dynamics and thermal science, we have designed a range of products poised to redefine fire suppression techniques. Our dedication to innovation has earned recognition and support from the National Science Foundation.

Role Description HEN is seeking an Engineering Technician to help shape the next generation of advanced firefighting equipment. In this role, you will play a key part in building and testing products that first responders rely on in the toughest modern structural and wildfire conditions. You’ll work closely with our design engineers to assemble cutting‑edge firefighting equipment — from one‑off prototypes to engineering test units — and develop custom test fixtures to support product validation. You’ll execute test procedures, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electromechanical components, and provide direct feedback to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

What you’ll do

Build and test mechanical assemblies and systems with precision, working closely with engineers to ensure parts meet design intent.

Inspect and measure components using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and document key dimensions and features. Support the shop by maintaining tools and equipment, tracking inventory, and sourcing parts needed for prototypes and builds.

Keep the workspace clean, safe, and well‑organized while following company standards and safety practices.

Collect performance data during testing, help troubleshoot mechanical issues, and provide feedback that drives design improvements.

Assist in commissioning new products, creating test fixtures, and documenting build processes to support future manufacturing.

What you’ll bring

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to build, test, and troubleshoot complex assemblies.

Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Resourceful problem‑solver who can adapt to new challenges and suggest process improvements.

Hands‑on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or assembly in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Collaborative mindset — able to work closely with engineers and communicate clearly about build or test results.

Organized and self‑motivated, with attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.

Curiosity and drive to learn new tools, techniques, and technologies to keep improving the shop and product builds.

Comfort using digital tools and organizational software (WIX, Shipstation, MRPEasy and Microsoft Office).

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

What we offer

Base Compensation: $40/hr – $60/hr

80 hours Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays per Company Calendar

Health Insurance: medical, dental, and life

Company’s 401(k) plan (4% match after 1 year)

Work side‑by‑side with experienced engineers, gaining real product development and prototyping skills that accelerate your career.

See your ideas and craftsmanship directly influence life‑saving firefighting tools used by first responders around the world.
