Product Development Coordinator
Reports To Product Development Manager
Summary Performs, processes, maintains and improves all technical aspects of customer graphics projects, including art files/designs, implementation of new jobs/products, materials, and customer relationships. Oversees project timelines, coordinates cross‑functional teams, and ensures successful project completion while upholding press‑side approvals and color/copy standards.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external customers on new, improved, or changed designs, ensuring on‑time delivery and compliance with customer requirements.
Promote active customer involvement by processing new designs and printing substrates, maximizing production efficiency and minimizing development costs.
Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels to align stakeholders on production specifications.
Request and approve development of new inks with suppliers, applying stringent controls to color and ink performance.
Demonstrate in‑depth understanding of print and converting fundamentals, including offset, gravure, inline and offline die‑cutting, hot‑foil stamping, and fold/gluing.
Work independently to deliver high‑quality products and determine optimal print sequences in partnership with operations.
Estimate tooling investment, manage approvals with customers, and support color matching and color booklet preparation.
Manage project timelines and on‑time delivery of tools for first productions.
Maintain quality control and product improvement through technical expertise.
Order, design, and maximize use of cylinders, securing high‑quality equipment while controlling costs.
Collaborate with Graphic Coordinators across sites to maximize production and cost efficiency.
Utilize advanced technologies to improve graphic functions and collaborate with production teams to resolve printing issues.
Document, record, and analyze cylinder, tooling, and re‑use data to ensure customer confidence.
Control costing of equipment and materials, approving invoices and maintaining documentation.
Stay current with industry trends, incorporate new knowledge, and contribute to departmental improvement.
Support OHSE and quality obligations and implement guiding principles.
Perform any other assignments requested by management.
Requirements
Technical degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably in the printing or packaging industry.
Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); basic Adobe Illustrator competency.
Strong interpersonal skills with customer‑relationship management and teamwork abilities.
Physical Demands
Position may require prolonged sitting, stooping, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
