Overview
Service Tech / Millwright - Industrial Pumps & Process Equipment. This role is with Hudson Pump & Equipment, a division of Tencarva Machinery Company. The position will be based partly in the field and partly at our repair shop. Candidate must live within a commutable distance (approximately 45 minutes) of our repair facility (approximately 10 miles west of West Palm Beach). Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and service customer equipment at the customer’s location in response to customer calls. Perform in-shop equipment repair, including rebuilding pumps and other engineered/process equipment. Install various equipment (pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, blowers, mechanical seals & packing, bearings, couplings, piping & gaskets, valves, etc.). Install sole plates (concrete, leveling, anchoring, alignment) and pump bases (concrete, leveling, anchoring, alignment). Laser alignment of all types of rotating equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment at the customer’s location. Read and interpret blueprints, machinery detail drawings, and layout drawings. Some jobs may require field welding, pipefitting, and fabrication. Travel for customer assistance or training. Establish a work schedule in coordination with the Service & Repair Manager and Repair Coordinator. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized field or shop work area and adhere to safety rules and policies of both Tencarva and the customer. Use proper safety equipment per company safety policies. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications and Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required; 2-4 years of related work experience and/or training. Strong preference for Certification in Rigging & Signaling; Millwright education/training is helpful but not required. Must possess understanding of and compliance with codes and OSHA regulations, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, hot work, crane rigging/signaling, and job hazard analysis. Ability to safely use lifting materials (chain-falls, come-alongs, clevis, slings, chains). Experience in rebuilding and installation of pumps; experience with laser alignment of equipment. Experience installing various process equipment (pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, blowers, seals & packing, bearings, couplings, piping & gaskets, valves) and installation of sole plates and pump bases. Welding and fabrication skills are helpful but not required; field pipefitting experience is helpful but not required. Mechanical aptitude with ability to read blueprints and diagnose and troubleshoot equipment. Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot malfunctions; drive and initiative; ability to follow directions. Must have a valid driver’s license with no points. Physical ability to perform required tasks; some roles require lifting and working in potentially challenging environments. Benefits
