Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:
High School diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire PCA/PCT (Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician) diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in an healthcare setting OR Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification OR EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification OR Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification OR Provides evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework OR Evidence of Completion in of a Nursing Assistant training program OR PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life - Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association

Supervisor/Manager/Director of assigned unit.
Working Conditions
Works with equipment or performs procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls. Works in an area in which there is exposure to hazardous chemicals or carcinogenic agents which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Works in an area in which there is exposure to radiation which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Work requires exposure to blood and various body fluids which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment. Works in an area that is very uncomfortable because of extreme temperatures, noise levels, odors or other similar conditions. Works requires handling of hot liquids, toxic or flammable chemicals, or contaminated materials which requires caution and use of established safety guidelines and equipment.
Physical Requirements
Lifting objects weighting more than 100 pounds. Standing for more than two hours at a time. Stooping or bending Manual dexterity - reach and grasp objects Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors Ability to hear and communicate orally Pushing or pulling supply carts Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy Using a keyboard to enter and transform words or data Using a video display terminal to receive or audit information or data
