Southern Veterinary Partners Double Oak Veterinary Medical Center is located in Double Oak, Texas, nestled just outside of Dallas, near Denton and Flower Mound. Double Oak has a rapidly growing population and a lot to offer its residents. We are full service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats. We welcome both emergency treatment cases and pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Here at Double Oak we treat client’s pets like the valued family members they are. We are looking for a
Licensed Veterinary Technician
to join our expanding team and help us provide excellent experiences for our clients and their pets. By joining our organization as a Veterinary Technician, you will have access to a peer network of over 5,000 professionals, a continuing education allowance, and various learning and development programs to support you in achieving your career goals.
Position Skills
Professional client communication and education, obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols for fellow staff members Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring Proficient in dental prophylaxis
Position Requirements
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state. Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology
