Position Summary: The Perioperative Patient Care Assistant performs basic patient care tasks as a cooperative member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, in the (department name) nursing unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. He/she reports at all times to a supervising nurse. This position also indirectly supports patient care by providing clerical support to the unit as assigned. The Perioperative Patient Care Assistant facilitates a safe, clean working environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. Pay Range: $20.15/hr - $21.65/hr Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements: Prior work experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred. Must have basic knowledge of standard perioperative care procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology is recommended. A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification is required.
