The Clinical Specialist will work with the Regional Sales Director and Territory Manager within a defined geographic area to meet existing and potential customers (e.g., physicians, physician office groups at hospitals) to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how
the
company's interventional portfolio can help them achieve their goals and meet patient/customer needs. The Interventional Technologies Clinical Specialist works closely with Interventional Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons to drive procedural and practice success in Structural Heart and Interventional procedures. By providing case coverage, the IT Clinical Specialist will contribute to achieving projected sales goals, Company objectives, and increasing sales revenue. Essential Duties
Collaborates with the Territory Manager to provide good case coverage and clinical outcomes for
patients.
Serves as primary clinical support and expertise for Structural Heart implanting centers. Provides technical support in accordance with the Instructions for Use and best practices to facilitate procedural consistency and optimal clinical outcomes.
Provides education and training activities with physicians, hospital support staff, and Haemonetics personnel. Stays abreast of and communicates clinical data regarding Haemonetics portfolio of products.
Provides support on questions regarding device suitability and offers comprehensive technical support including knowledge of imaging modalities, EKG, blood pressure, hemodynamic waveforms, and ancillary procedural solutions.
Develops and maintains comprehensive clinical and technical product knowledge. Recognizes and understands competitive products, industry trends, and the Haemonetics portfolio.
Oversees local education and training activities including coordination and setup of programs, procedural troubleshooting, and staff education facilitation.
Identifies, establishes, and maintains productive relationships with key decision makers, customers and their staff, and administrative staff.
Demonstrates the ability to link clinical data to key messaging.
Supports monitoring of product inventory levels.
Qualifications
Education BA/BS or equivalent: Medical training (RT, RCIS, Surgical tech, RN, NP, or first assistant) -
Preferred Experience Strong clinical orientation, experience with products for use in interventional cardiology, structural heart, electrophysiology, vascular or cardiac surgery preferred. Experience in the cardiac cath lab environment or as a scrub nurse/tech for Structural Heart procedures is required. Skills Excellent interpersonal skills and strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician, nurse, and lab tech personality types. Extensive experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab environment as a scrub nurse or technologist as the primary scrub for structural heart procedures. Ability to persuasively communicate and tailor the Interventional Technology Value Proposition. Analytical with financial acumen (understanding of how our products' performance and data impact a health system's bottom line). Ability to maintain good working relationships while dealing with sensitive and confidential matters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail to maintain records and process reports. Thorough knowledge of the medical device market, products, and the territory's customer base. Emotional intelligence to manage schedules effectively and efficiently. Previous industry experience in the Structural Heart space with preference to TAVR calling on Interventional Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons. Previous experience with structural heart is preferred. Previous experience providing clinical education and training to staff members is preferred. Values teamwork and collaboration internally and externally with customers. Knowledge of MS Office systems. Physical Demands
