Overview
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs the specific section procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply the prescribed diagnostic imaging equipment for production of high quality images. Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as requested. Responsibilities & Expectations
Serves as a consultant in area of Radiology. May work a variety of shifts 7 days per week, including a holiday rotation. Subject to frequent interruptions during performance of duties. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff to maintain adequate unit coverage. Expected to adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Expected to fulfill position description and requirements. Constant standing and walking. Possible exposure to ionizing radiation. Close contact with patients under mental and physical stress. Close contact with patients under isolation. Adheres to policies, protocols, updates and education. Assists in maintaining hospital and unit mission and standards. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of imaging services. Update and educate all new polices and protocols. Complete and track Education and Job Performance sheets when errors are made. Assist in Staff Evaluations. Report to Shared Decision Meeting. Job Requirements
Minimum Education: Satisfactory completion of an accredited college and ARRT License Minimum Experience: Preferred one year of experience, ability to instruct student radiologic technologists Leadership Expertise: Integrity, honesty, fairness, possesses vision American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) required All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Rotating shifts or hours as required by the job. Occasional weekends, holidays, and off-shifts. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours. Normally works 40 hours per week or as indicated by hired FTE. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff to maintain adequate floor coverage. Able to fulfill position description requirements. Bending, lifting, and walking without restrictions.
