Overview

Radiologic Technologist I or II - Diagnostic Radiology (Fri-Sun 7:00am–7:30pm). Responsibilities

Promotes a positive work environment. Collaborates with all members of the patient care team. Uses peer-to-peer accountability towards department goals for retention and employee engagement. Proactive in responding to patient needs. Optimizes protocols to provide for better patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes positioning, collimation, physiology, procedure preparation, technical factors and appropriate use of lead markers. Assists physicians during diagnostic procedures or fluoroscopic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique. Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures to include common, special and fluoroscopy diagnostic exams of moderate complexity. Practices radiation safety and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures. Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies. Participates in WASTE walks and supports department LEAN projects. Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. Performs imaging equipment quality control (QC) at required intervals to ensure all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use. Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance, as appropriate. Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered. Participates in department projects or shared governance activities. Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a technologist. Education & Experience

Associates of Applied Science Graduate of an accredited radiography program I: 0+ years of experience; II: 3+ years of experience Licenses, Registrations or Certifications

American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R) Texas Medical Board certification (MRT) American Heart Association BLS Essential Job Functions (I and II)

Radiologic Technologist I: Complete a variety of routine and diagnostic radiology procedures, including common and special fluoroscopic exams of routine to moderate complexity; provide direct assistance to physicians; adhere to exam standards and ensure patient safety. Radiologic Technologist II: Perform and mentor in a wide range of routine to complex diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures; mentor Technologist I and students; lead and participate in department projects and safety initiatives. Work Schedule
