Position Summary:
Are you a passionate mental health professional seeking a meaningful role in children's lives? Join our multidisciplinary treatment team as a
School-Based Therapist
at Bryant Elementary School and make a direct impact in a school setting. In this role, you'll provide therapeutic services to students and families, contribute to treatment planning, and support students' emotional, behavioral, and academic success through evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual, group, and family therapy for school-aged children. Conduct clinical assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans. Participate actively in treatment team, IEP, student care, and clinical meetings. Deliver psychoeducation to students and their families. Address family dynamics and psychosocial, environmental, educational, and cultural factors impacting student well-being. Coordinate care and serve as liaison among students, families, schools, and community providers. Support students in crisis, including leading safety planning and utilizing de-escalation and restraint protocols when necessary. Lead therapeutic summer programming, including experiential learning activities and field trips.

Strong Clinical Skills: Proficient in individual, group, and family therapy; experienced with child and adolescent mental health. Collaborative: Works well with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Effective Communicator: Clearly conveys information to students, parents, and professionals. Culturally Competent: Sensitive to diverse backgrounds and family dynamics. Emotionally Intelligent: Empathetic, patient, and composed under pressure. Organized & Reliable: Manages time well, completes documentation promptly, and meets deadlines. Crisis-Ready: Skilled in de-escalation and safety planning when students are in distress. Adaptable: Comfortable navigating a dynamic school environment and shifting priorities.

Requirements
Education, training and experience:
Graduation from an accredited Master’s degree program in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a closely related field is required. 2 years of experience working with children who are emotionally disturbed is preferred. Evidence of training and/or experience in individual, group, and family therapy is preferred. Must possess advanced skills in oral and written communication, as well as working knowledge of various theories, their implications, and human development.
Certification/licensure
Current candidate's license in the state of Montana (PCLC, SWLC, etc.) Eligible for licensure as LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT in the State of Montana and actively working towards Montana licensure per the Board of Behavioral Health requirements.
