Job Description Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. Full‑time employees in Bargaining Units 1‑21 will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part‑time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis. Salaries do not reflect recent changes. Physical Therapist, Correctional Facility Series – CalHR. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $6,876. Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, the Physical Therapist I, CF administers physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility. The PT interprets to patients the significance of physical therapy services, complies with all applicable State and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy program, and maintains order and supervises conduct of the incarcerated while ensuring the safety of persons, property, and work spaces.
Responsibilities
Administers physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility.
Interprets to patients the significance of physical therapy services.
Complies with all applicable State and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy program.
Maintains order and supervises conduct of the incarcerated, ensuring safety of persons, property, and working areas.
Qualifications
Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of physical therapy in California as determined by the California Medical Board.
