RESPONSIBILITIES General Consulting Services
Provides recommendations for therapeutic intervention of the special needs population within the school setting.
Advises on special equipment needs (i.e. wheelchairs, adaptive devices, management training).
Provides suggestions for elimination of architectural barriers in the school and the most effective form of mobility for each child
Other duties as assigned by the Director and / or Program Supervisor

Specific Consultation Services
Provides teacher training in special skills necessary for handling and positioning.
Provides physically / developmentally handicapped students instruction in proper feeding techniques, utilizes adaptive equipment and assistive devices, demonstration of use and care of orthopedic / prosthetic devices.
Provides instruction to families in home management program an adapting the home to meet the needs of the student.
Provides instruction and guidance for specifically adapted exercise programs to be carried out by the physical education teacher.
Treatment Services
Provides individual and small group therapy services to students previously identified through evaluation as requiring direct treatment sessions within the educational environment.
Conduct physical therapy evaluations complete with school-based goals and objectives.
Complete PLAAFP and other required documentation for the students receiving physical therapy services.
QUALIFICATIONS
New Jersey Certification as a School Physical Therapist
New Jersey Physical Therapist License
Proof of recent TB screening.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
PAY RATE : $85 / hour
