Responsibilities
General Medicine tasks: DM, GI, Respiratory, Renal, Wounds/Dressing Changes, chest tubes, trachs, lab draws.
Telemetry monitoring, reading telemetry strips; operate within Centralized Telemetry system.
Gtts management occasionally: Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Heparin.
Provide direct and indirect patient care; collaborate with team; maintain strong written and oral communication.
Participation in Rapid Response Team, RT 24/7, Hospitalist 24/7, Intensivist 24/7.
Orientation to facility and unit (NEO).
Qualifications
RN licensure; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement).
Minimum 2 years of MST experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and handle moderate to high stress.
RN: 5-6:1 patient ratio.
Ability to read telemetry strips; comfortable with IV starts, drains/tubes, PCA pumps.
Support and Equipment
CNA duties: basic nursing care and assistance to RN.
Technology/Equipment: EMR – Epic; IV Pumps – Alaris; Med dispensing – Omnicell.
Orientation: Facility and unit (NEO).
