Pharmacist Specialist – Evening Shift
Onvida Health (Yuma Medical Center) is recruiting a Pharmacist Specialist to provide high-quality patient care in our specialty areas during evening shifts. This full‑time role requires 70 hours every two weeks and offers competitive hourly pay.
Responsibilities
Provide patient and pharmaceutical care, including medication therapy evaluation, order clarification, and verification within the electronic health record.
Directly oversee the pharmacist and pharmacy technician team, addressing workflow issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Collaborate with medical, hospital, and department leadership to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Represent the Pharmacy Department in interdisciplinary committees for protocol development, policy review, and reporting to leadership.
Develop and implement educational programs for pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and students related to specialty areas.
Participate in central pharmacy dispensing and verification activities as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Credentials
Pharmacist (licensed) with either a Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy and a minimum of five years of patient‑care experience in a specialty area, or PGY‑1 with at least three years of acute‑care experience, or PGY‑2 residency in a specialty area.
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a related field.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Compensation Hourly pay range: Minimum $87.50 – $131.25 per hour (actual salary may vary based on skills and experience).
