Position Summary Staff Physical Therapist - Manhattan, Langone Orthopedic Center. The successful candidate will evaluate physical therapy needs and implement comprehensive, medically prescribed physical therapy treatment in a supervised rehabilitation program.
Job Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Initial assessment and evaluation of physical therapy needs for assigned patient populations; review medical charts, clarify referral/treatment orders, select assessment tools, determine patient status, and develop an optimal treatment plan; make clinical decisions and adjust the plan as needed.
Implement treatment plans and protocols according to current professional and health system standards. Establish achievable goals with patient and family. Consider various validated treatment approaches and refer patients to other clinical services as needed. Assess educational needs of patient and families and provide education during rehabilitation.
Complete all required documentation for patient care and reimbursement; document in the medical chart according to department guidelines and regulatory requirements; maintain thorough and accurate treatment records.
Participate in clinical education of fieldwork students and other professional education; teach and supervise students in techniques and procedures; foster learning experiences for students and other learners.
Contribute to patient care productivity as indicated by unit procedures and productivity reports.
Maintain continued proficiency in skills required to treat the assigned patient population.
Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Physical Therapy. New York State Physical Therapy License or temporary permit. Good communication and interpersonal skills. BLS certification (issued by AHA or ARC) OR CPR/AED certification (issued by AHA or ARC) is required upon entry to the position.

Phys Thrpst Temp Permit-NYS, Phys Thrpst License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications Master\'s Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
