As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a Power Distribution Specialist and be part of our Central Utilities Maintenance team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.
Objective Provide technical knowledge to assist maintenance and production personnel in the implementation of equipment/system improvements. Develop and execute equipment maintenance programs.

Job qualifications and experience requirements
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required
Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering; Emphasis in power systems preferred.
Minimum of “10” years of experience in electrical power systems engineering in industrial environment, working with both low voltage and medium voltage electrical power distribution applications up to 34.5kV
Knowledge of regulations mandated by the International Electrical Testing Association (NETA), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA-70E), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and other applicable standards, regulations and guidelines
SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition System) Recommended
Power Quality
Power Management
Battery systems
Switchgears and transformers
HVAC Electrical systems (Desired Automation systems)
Electrical Engineering software
SKM or similar software experience on power system studies including load flow, short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard analysis and harmonic analysis
Excellent communications skills working with both professionals, operations personnel, and construction trades
Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
General Microsoft Office and computer skills

Some responsibilities are
Ensure departmental assets achieve optimal operability and maintenance of Power Distribution/HVAC Systems
Provide technical support and consultancy to the management structure in Power System related decisions
Quality review of construction activities pertaining to Electrical Equipment installation, including transformers and accessories, protection system, power meters, lighting, from low voltage up to 34.5kV as well as HVAC systems controls preferred.
Coordinate Engineering activities to support maintenance areas in the implementation of System/Equipment modifications and/or improvements, including technical analysis, proposals and alternatives evaluation, cost estimates, diligence, factory testing and commissioning
Provide technical support for the project management group, from the feasibility study phase to the coordination of the final acceptance tests, ensuring the technical quality, as well as ensuring the correct technical documentation after changes
Establish the minimum technical requirements necessary to purchase or modify equipment and/or systems by maintaining technical standards based on national, international and/or corporate standards, incorporating new technologies whenever necessary
Develop reports and findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Promote safety culture, review accident/incident reports and assist in investigations as required
Lead, support, participate in, and develop improvement programs and project groups
Support management in optimizing quality, cost, availability, and performance of equipment
Coordinate and direct personnel as required

Physical requirements
Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
Must be able to work in extreme heat
Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
Ability to safely use power and hand tools
Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
Salary range $76,200-104,700
