Overview

Title: Construction Superintendent - AMA Group Location: New York City, Brooklyn and Northern New Jersey Reports to: Senior Project Manager and Director of Construction Role summary: Coordinate site construction activities and support/report to management. Travel to jobsites throughout New York City, Brooklyn, Northern New Jersey and Southern Connecticut is required; limited time spent in the office. Clients include NBC Universal, Disney, NBC Sports, and A+E Networks. Role Responsibilities

Supervise all trade and field personnel; implement and/or improve company-wide project management processes with a focus on safety. Establish site safety and site-office setup, including logistics plan, material flow, project safety requirements, and emergency/evacuation plan. Review and understand project schedule; assist Project Manager in maintaining schedule (MS Project format). Create Project Team & Home Page on Procore; generate a project directory for field personnel and stakeholders in Procore. Issue subcontractor welcome letters, collect subcontractor insurance, and communicate project safety requirements. Review trade scope sheets/proposals; understand each subcontractor’s scope of work. Generate a list of RFIs; coordinate with design team to address open RFI issues. Prepare a submittal log; issue log to subcontractors and coordinate reviews of submittals/shop drawings with the design team via Procore. Print and post OSHA/safety signage and permits; maintain a permit board near the site. Perform site-specific safety orientations; enforce weekly toolbox talks and daily huddles; generate agendas and take minutes. Mark up MEPS plans daily; track progress, take daily photos, and issue weekly progress reports and two-week lookaheads. Manage laboring staff and record timesheets. Create change events (CEs) and obtain subcontractor pricing as required. Coordinate subcontractor meetings and record meeting minutes; prepare client meeting minutes for PM review in Procore. Generate close-out and permit matrices; organize site cleanup and removal of materials. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR equivalent years of related experience. Experience

2–4 years of experience in construction management; MEP and Interiors. Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and related documents. Working knowledge of MS Project and Procore/PlanGrid. Experience working on cross-functional teams across different offices. Specific Skills

Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment. Strong verbal and written communication; adaptable communication style. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently while managing multiple projects. About AMA Group
