This position is responsible for managing the assembly processes and methods necessary to build the required production products and schedules to meet department and customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:

Ensures policy compliance by monitoring department to ensure that Viking policies and procedures are followed, and employees are properly trained to understand the policies.

Maintains an efficiently run department at all times by ensuring a clean and organized department using the 5S principles and training employees what are our expectation.

Safeguards assembly department's work environment by establishing and monitoring safety guidelines to ensure that all safety policies and requirements are followed. Drive safety issues to be resolved to help create a safe work environment.

Maintains fully staffed department by working in conjunction with the Human Resources Department to develop a successful, cross‑trained workforce.

Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Use coaching, counseling and discipline as required. Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Redirects efforts of staff when goals are not being met.

Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel. Accomplishing work results, establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards to drive quality improvements to improve FPY results to achieve a 98% target.

Maintains acceptable productivity levels by monitoring and addressing issues that will impact production performance in a timely manner to maintain hour by hour scheduled targets and when required request help to resolve production, labor and supply chain issues.

Ensures operation of equipment by performing proper cleaning, and operator care for the equipment and calling for repairs when required and supporting maintenance as needed, evaluating new equipment and techniques and assuring that employees are properly trained to operate equipment.

Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

Eliminates waste by following practices involved with the Lean Manufacturing Process.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.

Requirements

4 years manufacturing experience; 2 years supervisory experience required.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.

Responsible, dependable, detail oriented and professional.

Proficient with computer and other office equipment.
