Job Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated physiotherapist to join the paediatric physiotherapy operational division as a Band 6 rotational physiotherapist. The position is a fixed‑term 12‑month contract commencing 1 December 2025, with the option to join the annual rotation scheme across paediatrics. Rotations cover a range of clinical areas including respiratory, respiratory‑developmental, cystic fibrosis, chronic respiratory conditions, long‑term ventilation, rheumatology, haem‑oncology, neuro‑rehabilitation, and community settings (primary, early years, and special school).

Role and Responsibilities

Provide specialist paediatric physiotherapy care across multiple clinical settings.

Work as an active member of multidisciplinary teams within the rotational areas, delivering specialist advice when needed.

Participate in emergency duty on‑call and weekend rota following induction and training.

Manage time effectively and collaborate closely with families and partners.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development.

Comply with Trust policies, clinical governance, and health and safety standards.

Possess a full UK driving licence for community rotations.

Participate in the Senior Physiotherapy Paediatric rotational scheme across the Trust for 12‑month periods.

Consolidate and build on skills and academic knowledge gained during early post‑graduation years.

Person Specification Knowledge (Essential)

Advanced knowledge of medical conditions and their impact on patient function.

Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process.

Knowledge (Desirable)

Experience undertaking research and audit projects.

Knowledge of current NHS issues such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the Trust’s Improving Working Lives policy.

Skills (Essential)

Excellent organisation and time‑management skills.

Team working ability.

Commitment to personal and service development.

Clear written and oral communication skills.

Valid UK driving licence.

Skills (Desirable)

IT skills, including proficiency with clinical software.

Presentation skills.

Experience (Essential)

Previous experience as a junior physiotherapist in a rotational post providing broad experience across core physiotherapy areas.

Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.

Experience (Desirable)

Experience in a senior physiotherapy post.

Experience working with families.

Qualifications (Essential)

Degree or Equivalent Diploma in Physiotherapy.

State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Qualifications (Desirable)

Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

Involvement in the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Paediatrics (APCP).
