Responsibilities
Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services.
Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices.
Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability.
Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions.
Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per agency policy.
Qualifications
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Education program approved by CAPTE.
Current Occupational Therapist licensure in state and American Heart Association CPR certification required; CPR certification may be offered and completed upon hire.
Two (2) years of experience in adult occupational therapy, home health experience preferred.
Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; physical therapy skills per competency checklist.
Salary Range: USD $39.00 - $55.00 / Hour
