This Role In Summary Whirlpool seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for the 2nd Shift in Tulsa, OK. The supervisor leads a team of ~20 hourly maintenance technicians on a large manufacturing plant with seven assembly lines, finishing and paint lines, furnaces, a washing line, and stamping presses. The role plans, coordinates, and executes daily maintenance activities to maximize plant performance, reliability, and safety.

Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement according to WCM methodology.
Train and supervise the team on maintenance procedures, failure detection, inspection criteria, repair methods, and safety practices.
Monitor skill levels and assign tasks based on capability.
Maintenance Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime and increase equipment reliability.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to prioritize and plan maintenance activities.
Process Improvement & Optimization
Continuously evaluate maintenance processes and recommend improvements for efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness.
Utilize WCM manufacturing principles, TPM, Lean, and similar methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.
Drive the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to improve performance.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all safety rules and LOTO procedures during maintenance comply with plant policies and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
Lead incident investigations related to maintenance, identifying corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Budget & Resource Management
Optimize resources to meet maintenance and production goals within budget constraints.
Oversee procurement of spare parts and supplies, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Reporting & Documentation
Communicate machine status, availability, and issues clearly to staff.
Maintain KPIs, logs, and records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.
Prepare and present regular reports on performance, downtime analysis, cost tracking, and reliability metrics.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment such as assembly lines and stamping presses.
5+ years of leadership experience managing teams of maintenance personnel.
Preferred Skills And Experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable strategies.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley), industrial controls, HMI/SCADA development, industrial networks, and instrumentation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Strong experience in machine troubleshooting, PLC Allen Bradley, and maintenance skills.
