CNC Machinist Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes (dual‑spindle with live tools).
Operate up to two lathe machines in a cell.
Run production to calculated standards.
Perform in‑process inspections on machined parts.
Read engineering drawings.
Problem‑solve CNC machining or tooling issues.
Collaborate with Engineering on programming difficulties or corrections.
Requirements – Basic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
Basic knowledge of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
Use of measuring equipment, including hand‑held gauges and advanced devices.
Strong math and mechanical skills.
Follow work instructions in a controlled production environment.
Good computer skills.
Discipline for consistent, precise work.
Familiarity with quality control systems/software.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Team‑oriented communication and collaboration.
Manage multiple demands professionally.
Adhere to safety, PPE, and company standards.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience with multiple types of CNC controls.
Knowledge of robotics.
Knowledge of CMMs.
Willingness to learn multiple machine cells.
Physical Requirements
Lift, pull, push or apply force up to 60 lbs.
Frequent bending, stooping, pulling, and twisting.
Extended periods of standing or walking.
Constant free mobility of hands, wrists, and arms.
Pass company‑paid vision and hearing tests.
Work Schedule and Environment for 2nd Shift CNC Machinists
Schedule: 4‑10 s, Monday through Thursday.
Shift: Monday‑Thursday 4:15 p.m. – 2:45 a.m.
OT on Friday and Saturday as needed.
Work conducted on large CNC machines in a temperature‑controlled, clean shop.
Compensation and Benefits Starting hourly rate: $25.00 – $32.00 plus 10 % shift differential.
Full‑time benefits include:
