Job Title Manufacturing Technician
Location Fort Wayne, IN
Schedule 9/80 – 9 hours per day, 8 days per week
Travel & Shift
Travel up to 20%
Non‑standard shifts during high priority activities
Responsibilities
Assemble, integrate, and align high‑reliability space hardware subassemblies in a cleanroom environment.
Perform complex electrical integration of thermal, electrical, and cable harness assemblies at subsystem and system levels.
Read and interpret complex drawings, instructions, and technical schematics.
Maintain strict contamination control standards and protocols to ensure product integrity and quality.
Work independently under a microscope or extended periods of time with small parts and hand tools.
Collaborate with large and small team environments and cross‑functional engineering personnel.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary / associate’s degree with 2 years of prior related experience.
Proficiency with basic hand tools: torque wrenches, wire crimpers, heat tweezers, hot tweezers, soldering iron, digital multi‑meter, micrometer, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Knowledge of foreign object debris (FOD) control and tool control processes.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and instructions.
Good hand‑eye coordination, dexterity, and ability to work with small parts under a microscope.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred: NASA 8739 certifications for soldering, polymerics, and cable & harness fabrication; IPC‑J‑STD‑001 space addendum soldering certifications; IPC‑/WHMA‑A620 space addendum requirements and acceptance for cable and wire harness assemblies.
