Position Overview The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is seeking a skilled and experienced
Millwright
to support maintenance and mechanical operations at our New Albany facility. This full‑time, hourly position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety across the site. The Millwright works closely with the Mill Manager, Maintenance Lead, engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and uphold operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support and execute equipment repairs, which includes reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
Undertake preventive maintenance program for equipment.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, set‑up, and repair of equipment and machinery.
Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
Verify and document repairs made.
Qualifications
5 years of previous maintenance experience.
Ability to use supply room and cross‑reference parts and specify parts.
Competent in reading blueprints and schematics.
Competent in cutting and welding in all positions.
Competent in all type bearing installations and alignments.
Competent in use of lubricants.
Competent with all type power transmission components and troubleshooting.
Ability to figure drive ratios.
Competent in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Ability to wire motors.
Ability to use multimeter to take readings.
Ability to pass a cutting and welding test (flat, overhead, vertical, and horizontal).
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays as required.
General Requirements This role involves working outdoors and requires physical activity, including lifting and operating heavy equipment in varying weather conditions. The Millwright must also be comfortable working in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced setting.
Pay and Benefits Pay: The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.63, with potential for a higher rate based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills.
