Overview

Employees in this job classification are under immediate supervision and perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength (able to lift 25 pounds). Responsibilities
Under general direction, clean and maintain all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility, and perform preventative maintenance on floor equipment as needed. Obtain necessary cleaning supplies. Identify personal protective gear necessary for the task assigned. Strip, wax and buff floors according to contract schedule. Perform carpet extraction and cleaning according to contract schedule. Ensure floors maintain a clean appearance at all times. Spot clean carpets within 24 hours of initial request. Maintain minimum contract standards at all times. On occasion, assist with other janitorial duties. Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with PORTCO policies. Qualifications
Moderate physical strength; ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Experience with basic cleaning tasks such as dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, polishing furniture, vacuuming, and simple operation of basic cleaning equipment (as described in PORTCO context). Ability to perform carpet and floor care including extraction, waxing, and buffing per schedule. Ability to follow contract schedules and maintain standards of cleanliness. Other Information
